Anteon to work on joint training technologies

Anteon International Corp. won a five-year contract to help train Defense Department personnel at the Joint Forces' Command Advanced Training Technology Laboratory, the company said.

The contract has an estimated value of $28.9 million, if all options are exercised.

Under the terms of the deal, Fairfax, Va.-based Anteon will design, build and operate the lab, which is being set up to evaluate and certify technologies required for joint training operations. Anteon will help identify technology capabilities before they are adopted for the Global Joint Training Infrastructure environment.

The company will provide IT and engineering services in modeling and simulation, joint command and control and intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance systems, IT security, database design and other areas, Anteon officials said.

Joseph Kampf, Anteon's president and chief executive officer, said the company's experience in simulation and training technologies were important to winning the contract. Anteon supports the command's Joint Experimentation and Joint Training Directorates.

With 2003 prime government IT revenues of $468 million, Anteon ranked No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list.
