Md. county launches online police recruiting

Peopleclick Inc. a provider of workforce management solutions, has implemented an application for Montgomery County, Md., which will enable the county to recruit police officers online, the company announced this month.

The Web-based application for law enforcement recruitment is the latest application to go live under a contract for an automated recruitment management system awarded last year to the Raleigh, N.C.-based company by the Montgomery County Office of Human Resources. The multiyear contract is worth $500,000.

The company's recruitment management system is Web-based and integrates the work of recruiters and hiring managers to simplify, automate and track the hiring process.

The Montgomery County Police Department receives about 2,000 applications and hires between 60 and 70 officers each year.

The integration of the police department employment application with the county's Web-based recruitment management system will increase the department's efficiency and enable it to reach candidates beyond the county's borders, the company said.
