Defense Logistics taps NCI for tech support

NCI Information Systems Inc. has won a $7 million contract to provide the Defense Logistics Agency with information technology services, the company announced today.

The contract was awarded as a task order through a General Services Administration schedule.

Under the contract, NCI Information Systems Inc. of Reston, Va., will provide IT support and administration to the DLA's Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service.

The contract supports local area networks, telecommunications, personal computers, IT help desk, asset management and logistics, mid-tier computing, information assurance and software applications development.

The work will be performed primarily at DRMS headquarters in Battle Creek, Mich., with some NCI staff assigned at other DRMS locations worldwide, the company said.

The contract affects more than 530 employees and contractors in the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center in Battle Creek and another 1,300 located at more than 100 remote offices worldwide.

Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego is a subcontractor to NCI on the award.

NCI Information Systems is a provider of enterprise systems management, information assurance, network engineering and systems development and integration.

The company has more than 1,400 employees and annual sales of $136.4 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
