OMB appoints Young e-gov associate administrator

The Office of Management and Budget today said Tim Young is the new associate administrator for e-government and IT.

Young, a political appointee, replaces Tad Anderson, who returned to the private sector after almost nine months in the position.

In his new position, Young will oversee the planning and implementation of e-government priorities including meeting the goals of the President's Management Agenda.

Prior to becoming the associate administrator, Young managed the internal efficiency and effectiveness e-government projects portfolio since last September. During his time as portfolio manager, many of the projects moved forward. E-Travel awarded four task orders for systems. E-Payroll continues to migrate agencies to one of four providers, and Integrated Acquisition launched the wage determination online portal and started processing rent payments through the intra-governmental transactions portal.

"For the past 11 months, he has provided strong leadership and superb management of presidential e-government initiatives and Line of Business task forces," said Karen Evans, OMB's administrator for e-government and IT. "His vast experience and proven track record will be essential as OMB completes the initial [25] e-government initiatives and our strategy."

Before coming to OMB, Young was a senior consultant at BearingPoint Inc. of McLean, Va., where he worked on business process improvement and re-engineering projects. He also interned in the House and with the Heritage Foundation of Washington.

Young received a master's degree in business administration from American University and a bachelor's in political science from Georgia Southern University.
