OMB's Anderson returning to the private sector

Tad Anderson, Office of Management and Budget associate administrator for e-government and IT, will return to the private sector Aug. 6.

Anderson, who joined OMB as an e-government project portfolio manager in March 2002, will become vice president of Dutko Government Markets at the Dutko Group Cos. Inc. of Washington, a company official said. He will provide strategic counsel and consulting services to help companies do business with federal and state government agencies.

"We are very excited to have someone of Tad's caliber to join our team," said David Beightol, a principal with the Dutko Group. "He brings an unique mix of business and government experience."

As associate administrator since November, Anderson helped push along to completion the 25 e-government projects and the enterprise software licensing initiative known as SmartBuy.

Before moving to his current position, Anderson managed the government-to-business portfolio of six Quicksilver projects, including the E-Rulemaking, Business Gateway and International Trade Process Streamlining initiatives.

Prior to joining OMB, Anderson was a management consultant with IBM's Business Innovation Services, and from 1996 to 2000 was the director of public affairs for the National Association of Manufacturers.

Anderson holds a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina and a master's in international commerce and policy from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.

"We think he can be helpful in several of our areas," Beightol said. "He will add a lot of value in our federal lobbying practice, our government markets practice as well as our global advisor practice and finally our state public policy firm. There aren't many talents that come along like him very often."
