Air Force picks five for transformation initiatives

The Air Force has chosen five contractors to share in task orders worth $498 million to provide IT products and services to speed transformation initiatives in the service.

Under the Air Force's Enterprise Information Technology Acquisition program, Lockheed Martin Corp.; Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego; Computer Sciences Corp.; Accenture National Security Services LLC; and Northrop Grumman Information Technology of Herndon, Va., were chosen by the Materiel Systems Group at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio to share in task orders.

The five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity support services contract will provide information technology services, including process improvement support, technology refreshes, legacy system maintenance and new development solutions for the Materiel Systems Group.

The Materiel Systems Group modernizes IT systems and sustains legacy logistics systems that help enable logistics readiness and combat support capabilities.

"The enterprisewide solutions that will be provided through the EITA program are absolutely key to establishing the collaborative work environment that battle commanders need," said Pete Rogers, Lockheed Martin's vice president for Combat Support Systems.
