Anteon, Raytheon share Navy contract

Two companies won 10-year Navy contracts worth a combined $726.1 million to provide systems modernization support.

The share won by Anteon International Corp of Fairfax, Va., is worth $348 million if all options are exercised. Anteon will provide legacy modernization services, new system development and support for combat systems and command, control, communications and intelligence systems.

The share won by Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC of Reston, Va., for similar services, is worth $378.4 million.

Work will be performed in the Hampton Roads, Va. area, in other ports in the United States and in various ports outside the country. The work is expected to be completed in June 2005.

Anteon is an IT and engineering solutions company with more than 7,600 employees and 2003 revenue of $1 billion. It ranks No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 List of federal prime IT contractors.

Raytheon Technical Services provides technical, scientific and professional services for defense, federal and commercial customers. Its parent company, Raytheon Co. of Waltham, Mass., employs 78,000 workers and had 2003 revenue of $18.1 billion. It is No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 List.
