Northrop Grumman Corp. won a Defense Department contract to continue providing on-site analytical support to the Joint Staff and Combatant Commands.

Northrop Grumman Corp. won a Defense Department contract to continue providing on-site analytical support to the Joint Staff and Combatant Commands, company officials announced today.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity joint analytical support contract is worth up to $220 million over five years, company officials said. The follow-on contract is for one year with four one-year options.

Northrop Grumman already provides joint analytical support for 12 major military command sites and the Joint Staff site at the Pentagon. About 120 Northrop Grumman employees and 25 subcontractors work at these sites; about 50 people will be added to support the follow-on contract, Northrop Grumman officials said.

Under the new, follow-on contract, Northrop Grumman's Herndon, Va., Information Technology unit will provide analytical support services to the Army Training and Doctrine Command Analysis Center at Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.

Northrop Grumman's work will include operations research and systems analysis support, systems engineering analysis and implementation, modeling and simulation development, wargaming and defense issues analysis, data-mining support and local area network design and implementation.

Northrop Grumman will facilitate analytical and technical collaboration between the Joint Analytical Support Program sites, other military agencies and federal and state agencies, including educational institutions, according to Northrop Grumman officials.

The Information Technology unit's team includes AT&T Corp. of Bedminster, N.J., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. of McLean, Va.; CACI International Inc. of Arlington, Va.; Perot Systems Corp. of Plano, Texas; Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego; Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. of Huntsville, Ala.; and Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa.
