Tallahassee, Fla., re-ups ACS for workforce services

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year contract to continue providing workforce services to the region around Tallahassee, Fla.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year, $6.5 million contract extension from the Big Bend Workforce Development Board to continue providing workforce services to the region around Tallahassee, Fla., the company announced this week.

Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will provide workforce services for welfare transition, food stamp education and training, and the Workforce Investment Act adult and dislocated workers programs in the Tallahassee area.

The area served by the contract includes Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla counties. Tallahassee is the county seat for Leon County.

The company manages and operates 81 welfare-to-workforce contracts in 18 states and the District of Columbia. ACS offers business process and information technology outsourcing services to government and commercial customers. The company has more than 40,000 employees and annual sales of $3.7 billion
