SRA awarded DOD transportation contract

SRA International Inc. won a five-year contract to help the U.S. Transportation Command in planning, executing and evaluating exercises. The contract is worth about $9.4 million if all options are exercised.

The command supports U.S. armed forces by delivering people and cargo worldwide via air, sea and land, using military and commercial transportation resources. It also works with the Transportation Department to make sure the U.S. rail and highway infrastructure can support defense emergencies.

SRA and its team will provide technical and analytical services to support the planning, execution and analysis of the command's training and military exercises. These exercises determine whether the command can meet wartime requirements.

SRA's team includes Camber Corp. of Huntsville, Ala., Integrated Information Technology Corp. of Denver, and Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles.

Fairfax, Va.-base SRA has provided enterprise training and military exercise training support to the Transportation Command since 1991, said Robert Evarts, SRA vice president and director of the company's St. Louis operations.
