Anteon nets $325 million Navy deal

Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va., won a contract to provide technical and management support to the Naval Sea Systems Command. If all options are exercised, the 12-year contract is worth $325 million, the company said.

Anteon, which provides IT engineering and integration, will perform program management, integrated logistics, financial management, new construction outfitting and life-cycle support for Navy surface ships. Anteon's work is part of the Navy's Fleet Modernization Program, an ongoing effort to maintain, modernize and improve the performance of Navy ships. The company will be involved in the program's overall planning and execution.

Anteon has been working with the Navy for almost 30 years, said Joseph Kampf, president and chief executive officer.

With 7,600 employees and 2003 revenues of $1 billion, Anteon ranked No. 14 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue. Washington Technology's 2004 rankings are due out in May.
