Michigan taps E Team for crisis software

Michigan has chosen E Team Inc. to provide crisis management software for a statewide emergency response and preparedness information system, the company announced this month.

Michigan selected Los Angeles-based E Team's crisis management software to support a statewide emergency preparedness information system, being implemented by San Diego-based Science Applications International Inc.

Through E-Team's solution, Michigan will be able to deploy common emergency response software to help state agencies, whether in offices or the field, to gather, manage and share information during a crisis, the company said.

SAIC is the prime contractor on the project. The value of SAIC's contract is $3.3 million. E Team declined to disclose the value of its portion.

The project is expected to take 18 months, E Team said. The first phase of the statewide deployment began in January and targeted five mission-critical emergency management state agencies, including state police and the departments of Community Health, Agriculture, Environmental Quality and Natural Resources, several local emergency management programs and regional medical response coalitions.
