CSC pulls down $406 million to support helicopters

Computer Sciences Corp. has won a $406 million contract from the Army Aviation and Missile Command to provide comprehensive support services to countries operating UH-1 and AH-1 helicopters procured through the U.S. government's Foreign Military Sales program.

The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract was award to DynCorp International, a CSC unit, the company said. It is for five years and five one-year options.

According to El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC, DynCorp will provide countries participating in the program with turnkey support services, including program management; logistics support; aircraft sustainment engineering; maintenance and aircrew training; aircraft maintenance and refurbishment; repair and overhaul of aircraft components and engines; airframe and engine upgrades; and production of technical publications.

"DynCorp International manages, maintains and supports many of the world's independent fleets of UH-1 aircraft," said Steve Cannon, president of DynCorp.

CSC's DynCorp International provides logistics, maintenance, security, technology and aviation program management support services to international clients, including the United Nations. The company has offices in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim.

CSC purchased DynCorp a year ago. CSC ranked No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
