N.Y. Attorney General taps Dyntek for help-desk support

Dyntek Inc. has won a five-year, $6.7 million contract from the New York State Office of the Attorney General for help-desk services.

Dyntek Inc. has won a five-year, $6.7 million contract from the New York State Office of the Attorney General for help-desk services, the company announced this week.

The contract has an initial value of $4 million, but could be worth as much as $6.7 million over the life of the agreement, the company said.

Dyntek of Irvine, Calif., did not provide details of the specific services it would offer under the contract. Help desks generally provide various kinds of IT installation, maintenance and support.

Dyntek formed in 2001 from the merger of TekInsight.com Inc. of Irvine, Calif., and DynCorp Management Resources Inc. of Reston, Va. It has performed technology solutions for New York state for more than 10 years, the company said.

Dyntek, a technology and management solutions provider to state and local governments, has about 230 employees and had annual sales of $52.6 million in 2003, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
