ATS acquires Voyager Systems
Advanced Technology Systems Inc. has acquired Voyager Systems Inc., a provider of secure wireless solutions and services.
Advanced Technology Systems Inc. has acquired Voyager Systems Inc., a provider of secure wireless solutions and services, the company announced today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will enable ATS of McLean, Va. to enhance its product and service offerings in information sharing, interoperability, communications and public safety for the law enforcement and homeland security markets.
Voyager will operate as a division of ATS alongside the company's public safety product team.
San Diego-based Voyager provides services and applications that allow agencies and officers to access and send critical data securely over a range of public wireless data networks and wireless and wired devices, including desktop computers, laptop computers, personal digital assistants and Java-enabled cell phones.
"Voyager brings ATS a suite of sophisticated wireless solutions and a team of talented professionals with significant expertise in delivering secure wireless access to the criminal justice community over many handheld devices," said Claude Rumsey, ATS' vice chairman.
The Voyager flagship product, Voyager Query, provides secure wireless access to standard queries on federal state and local agency databases, such as the FBI's National Crime Information Center and other agency-specific data sources.
ATS is a provider of information technology systems and solutions for government and commercial clients. The company's core capabilities include enterprise solutions, enabling technology and infrastructure support, with expertise in homeland security, financial and asset management, law enforcement and e-business systems.
The company has about 950 employees and annual sales of $117 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas. It was ranked No. 88 on the Washington Technology 2003 Top 100, which measures federal contracting revenue.
