Lockheed Martin to provide IT services to the EPA

Lockheed Martin Corp. has won a nine-year contract from the Environmental Protection Agency worth approximately $700 million, the company said.

Under the Information Technology Solutions-Environmental Systems Engineering contract, Bethesda, Md.-based Lockheed Martin will provide environmental, administrative and research systems engineering services to EPA offices nationwide.

Services will include systems development in application security, IT architectural support, data management, statistical services, geographic information systems, high-performance computing and visualization and scientific application and computational science support.

Linda Gooden, president of Lockheed Martin Information Technology, said her group would work with the EPA to enhance public health and environment decision-making through innovative IT solutions.

The ITS-ESE contract is a single award with five base years and options for four additional years. It is an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity vehicle that will support the EPA's headquarters program offices, regions and other state and federal partners.

Lockheed Martin plans to open a National Environmental Information and Systems Engineering Center in Arlington, Va., that will serve as headquarters for the program.

Teammates on the contract include BearingPoint Inc., Concurrent Technologies Corp., DigitalNet Inc., Oracle Corp. and several others.

Lockheed Martin ranked No. 1 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
