SAIC lands NASA contract

Science Applications International Corp. has won an $826 million contract from NASA to provide information technology management services, the agency announced Dec. 22.

The Unified NASA Information Technology Services contract will run for five years and is a follow-on contract to the Program Information Systems Mission Services contract, which was held by Computer Sciences Corp.

Most of the work will be performed at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. Agencywide services include the Integrated Financial Management Program, wide area network, IT security and digital television. San Diego-based SAIC also will provide systems and services support for Marshall programs.

The contract is the last of five that are part of the Space Mission Communications and Data Services program to support each of NASA's five centers. SAIC's team includes IBM Corp., Morgan Research Corp. and Honeywell Inc.
