CSC to provide additional services to Navy

Computer Sciences Corp. won a task order from the Naval Sea Systems Command to provide professional services to the Future Concepts and Surface Ship Design Group (SEA 05D), the company said today.

According to El Segundo, Calif.-based CSC, the task order, which is for one year with four one-year options, is worth more than $88 million if all options are exercised. It falls under a $14.5 billion multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract awarded in 2001.

Under this task order, CSC will furnish the design group with professional support services for naval architecture, engineering, ship design project management, ship design team and site support, technical library management and other related tasks.
SEA 05D is the Naval Sea Systems Command's technical authority for surface ship design and engineering. The group develops ship designs and feasibility studies.

"The Future Concepts and Surface Ship Design Group provides the technical leadership that ensures the Navy's ships are operationally superior while remaining affordable," said Aaron Fuller, vice president and general manager of CSC's Navy-Marine Corps and Missile Defense organization.

Last week CSC won a $55 million task order under that same contract to offer services to the Program Executive Office Aircraft Carriers.

CSC is ranked No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue. The company reported revenue of $13 billion for the 12 months ended Oct. 3.
