MPC acquires division of Omni Tech Corp.
MPC Computers LLC has acquired the end-user division of Omni Tech Corp.
MPC Computers LLC has acquired the end user division of Omni Tech Corp., the company announced today.
The value of the deal, which is effectively immediately, was not disclosed.
The acquisition brings MPC Computers of Nampa, Idaho, a broader customer base and improvement in overall scale, the company said. With a significant increase in unit volume, MPC can now be more cost competitive with the industry's largest personal computer companies.
Omni Tech will retain its dedicated computing division, MPC said.
Like MPC, Omni Tech of Pewaukee, Wis., is a segment-focused personal computer company with a primary focus on state and local government, education and mid-size commercial markets. MPC has a similar strategy focusing on the federal government and mid-market business segments.
The operations of the newly acquired division will be folded into those of MPC during the next 60 days. No immediate changes are planned to Omni Tech's product lines or service programs, MPC said.
MPC Computers (formerly Micron PC) has about 1,000 employees and annual sales of $810 million. The company was ranked No. 58 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list.
