SRA wins $25M Army software modernization contract
SRA International Inc. won a task order to provide information technology services to support soldiers at installations worldwide.
SRA International Inc. won a task order to provide information technology services to modernize and field a series of systems that support Army soldiers at installations worldwide, company officials announced today.
The task order, awarded under the General Services Administration schedule, has an estimated value of $25 million over five years if all options are exercised.
Under the task order, the Fairfax, Va., company will convert the Army's existing installation support modules ? standardized software applications that perform day-to-day sustaining base functions at Army installations ? to Web-enabled systems. The modernization will improve user access and capabilities and help reduce costs, company officials said.
Since 2001, SRA has provided project management, software requirements analysis, database redesign and other IT services to develop the architecture and design of the modernized installation support modules. Under the new task order, SRA and its subcontractors ? CLMS LLC of Arlington, Va., and Tiger Team Consulting of Fairfax, Va. ? will provide software and database development, systems integration, testing, data migration and security engineering services to field the modernized installation support modules.
The new Web-enabled systems will support essential business functions at Army installations, camps, posts and stations worldwide by improving standardization and reducing redundant data input.
The new systems will also improve the in- and out-processing procedures for soldiers and their families and will provide support for transitioning soldiers from active duty to reserve status, retirement or discharge. SRA will continue software maintenance support to the existing ISM applications until the modernized systems are deployed.
SRA provides information technology services and solutions to clients in national security, civil government, health care and public health. The company employs 2,600 people and had $361.2 million in revenue in 2002.
