ManTech wins $6.8 million Air Force work

ManTech International Corp., Fairfax, Va., won a $6.8 million contract from the Air Force to support space control operations, the company announced this week.

The contract, awarded under the General Services Administration IT services schedule, has a six-month base period, with three one-year options.

Under the Space Control Information and Mission Systems Support contract, ManTech will provide network support and operations and maintenance for the Air Force's 21st Space Wing, Colorado Springs, Colo. Work will be completed by ManTech subsidiary, ManTech Advanced Systems International Inc.

"The?win is an excellent example of business synergy between an established ManTech subsidiary, ManTech Advanced Systems International Inc., and a recent acquisition, neither of which would have competed separately for this work," said Evan Hineman, president of ManTech's national security solutions group.

The acquisition Hineman referred to was Aegis Research Corp., which ManTech purchased in August 2002 for $69.1 million. Aegis specialized in information operations; information security, mission planning and enterprise protection planning.

ManTech Advanced Systems International Inc focuses on systems and software engineering, systems acquisition and installation, security and maintenance services.
