Titan takes $195 million Navy contract

Titan Corp. is the winner of the Navy's Intelligence and Information Technology Management 2 contract, an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity vehicle potentially worth $194.8 million, the company announced June 11.

Titan won the contract away from BAE Systems plc, the incumbent. The award was first made in April, according to Titan spokesman Wil Williams, but BAE protested the decision. The protest was denied in May, and Titan was confirmed as the awardee.

The contract will run through March 2010 if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, Titan and a team of 19 subcontractors will provide information technology and infrastructure support, enterprise management, systems engineering, systems integration, specialized intelligence application development and other support and IT services.

Headquartered in San Diego, Titan has about 10,500 employees and annualized sales of approximately $1.5 billion.
