Network appliance released

Targeting agency branch offices, Boise, Idaho-based EmergeCore Networks LLC has released a network appliance that serves as a combination application server, switch, firewall, router and wireless access point.

The device can support most operating systems. It offers Web hosting and virtual private network support. The IT-100, which uses a Crusoe processor from Transmeta Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., costs $1,395.

The Navy integration office provides the ability for many agency offices, integrators and subcontractors to collaborate on large-scale programs.

Obstacle
