	President Bush asked Congress to approve $74.7 billion in supplemental appropriations for fiscal 2003 to fund the war with Iraq, international assistance and Iraqi relief and reconstruction, homeland security and the legislative branch.

President Bush asked Congress to approve $74.7 billion in supplemental appropriations for fiscal 2003 to fund the war with Iraq, international assistance and Iraqi relief and reconstruction, homeland security and the legislative branch.

The Bush request includes $62.6 billion for military action in Iraq and the war on terrorism. Up to $1.1 billion would be used to develop, purchase and upgrade systems, including command, control, communications, computer and intelligence equipment; chemical and biological detection and decontamination gear; and targeting devices. Bush wants Congress to vote on the supplemental measure by April 11.
