Northrop Grumman wins anti-terrorism training contract

Northrop Grumman Corp. won a contract to provide training support for the Army Management Staff College at Fort Belvoir, Va., the company announced today.

The contract is worth $14.5 million over four years.

The training support will focus on anti-terrorism, force protection and crisis management at Army installations. Commanders will practice their responses and interactions with internal and external civilian agencies.

Staff from Northrop Grumman Information Technology will conduct seminars and simulation-supported exercises that present a terrorist threat scenario to Army installations throughout the United States and abroad. In addition to the training exercises, Northrop Grumman IT will develop a CD-ROM that augments the training effort and provides training to smaller installations.

"Northrop Grumman IT has broad experience with simulation training programs" for the Defense and State departments, said Gregg Donley, president of technical services at Northrop Grumman IT.

Cubic Applications Inc., Lacey, Wash., is teaming with Northrop Grumman IT on the program. Work will be done at Northrop Grumman IT's Leavenworth, Kan., facility.
