AT&T lands 10-year contract with State Dept.

AT&T Corp. won a State Department contract to help ensure strategic international communication services are available to about 50 federal agencies in more than 250 countries around the world, the company announced Dec. 12. The contract, worth up to $36 million annually, is for up to 10 years.

AT&T Government Solutions was selected based on best value. The criteria included technical, management, price and other critical factors, the company said.

AT&T, based in New York, reported 2001 revenue of almost $52.6 billion, with more than 117,000 employees worldwide, according to Hoover's, an online business information service.
