ACS renews $23 million IT outsourcing deal

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year, $23 million contract extension from the City of Santa Clara, Calif., to continue providing enterprise information technology outsourcing services, the company announced Nov. 25.

The contract runs from Oct. 1, 2002, through June 30, 2005.

Under the terms of the contract, Dallas-based ACS will continue managing the city's IT operations and provide a range of IT services, including data center management, help desk support, application support, network management, desktop support and other consulting services to help the city continue aligning IT operations and business objectives.

Santa Clara, in Silicon Valley, serves a population of about 105,000. ASC has provided IT outsourcing services for the city since 1985.

ACS provides business process and IT outsourcing solutions to government and commercial clients. The company has about 40,000 employees and annual revenue of $3 billion.
