Nine integrators share in HHS work

Nine integrators have won a spot on a task order contract to provide information technology services for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The contract has a ceiling of up to $600 million.

The winning companies are Accenture Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda; American Management Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va.; Electronic Data Systems Corp., Plano, Texas; DynCorp, Reston, Va.; Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles; Raytheon Co., Lexington, Mass.; SRA International Inc., Fairfax; ViPS Inc., Baltimore; and TRW Inc., Cleveland.

CMS is the part of the Department of Health and Human Services that administers Medicare and Medicaid programs, including providing health insurance benefits to more than 72 million beneficiaries, according to the market research firm Input Inc. of Chantilly, Va.

Services to be covered in the work include the planning, design, development, implementation and support of CMS computer systems.

In December, HHS is expected to award a group of contracts under the program to small businesses for custom software development, documentation, project management and IT training.
