SI International nets Army deal

SI International Inc., a McLean, Va., information technology and network solutions company, has won a prime contract with the Army Civilian Personnel Policy Office worth up to $36 million over five years, the company announced July 23.Under the contract, SI will provide automation support services to the Office of the Assistant G-1 for Civilian Personnel Policy at the Army. SI will provide network management and support; systems and database administration; client-server and Web-applications software design, development, engineering and testing; system implementation; mainframe support; and information security.The Office of the Assistant G-1 for Civilian Personnel Policy sets strategic directions, develops policies and oversees programs to assure effective management and use of Army civilian employees. The office is beginning a series of application and data consolidation and modernization projects. The contract awarded to SI consolidates activities from numerous systems integration projects to a single prime contractor, SI said.The company has played a key role in designing and implementing Web and client-server solutions for the Civilian Personnel Policy Office for more than three years, according to Brad Antle, president and chief operating officer of SI.
