CACI scores $163 million Spawar job

CACI International Inc., Arlington, Va., has been awarded a $163.5 million contract to provide information technology support to the systems center of the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in Norfolk, Va. The contract is for one year with four one-year options.

For this contract, CACI will install command support system software on Navy vessels and land bases. The software being installed may include applications that help manage supply, maintenance, personnel, finances, medical records, travel orders and food service.

After installation, the company will test the systems to ensure they fulfill user requirements, integrate them with other systems as required and certify them as meeting Navy and Defense Department standards. CACI also will train users in system management, administration and use.

"The Navy has scores of heterogeneous systems, both tactical and non-tactical, that need to 'talk' to one another," said Ken Johnson, CACI's president of U.S. operations.

CACI has been supporting the systems center exclusively since 1989, according to the company.
