Titan lands $33 million Air Force support contract

Titan Systems Corp. has won a $33 million contract from the Air Force to support a next-generation, joint services weapons system, the company announced May 9.

Titan Systems of San Diego will provide flight test and technical support to the Air Force's Electronic Systems Center Information Technology Services Program for the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System, known as Joint STARS. The work will be performed where the program is located in Melbourne, Fla.

The period of performance includes a base period from April 21 to March 31, 2003, with four option periods totaling three years and nine months.

Under the contract, Titan will provide flight test and technical support for the acquisition, integration and testing of the Joint STARS weapons system worldwide.

Titan will support JTF efforts in the development and testing of the Joint STARS Radar Technology Insertion Program and other Joint STARS research and development activities currently under way and planned for the future. Titan test engineering personnel will work with Air Force, Army and prime contractor counterparts on the program.
