Government e-form wins to PureEdge, Cardiff

XML-based electronic form software vendors PureEdge Solutions Inc., Victoria, British Columbia, and Cardiff Software Inc., Vista, Calif., announced government contract wins May 13, with PureEdge winning a potential four year contract with the U.S. Air Force, and Cardiff scoring a sale to the city of Boston.


PureEdge secure Internet software was selected by the Air Force to supply initially 10 bases with XML electronic form software. Should PureEdge products pass operational tests, the Air Force plans to roll out the product elsewhere in the service, replacing proprietary electronic systems.


According to PureEdge, the Air Force has approximately 14,000 electronic forms used by more than 700,000 end users.


For Cardiff, Boston selected the company's electronic form management system to replace its internal manual processes. The solution publishes, routes, tracks, approves, signs and processes online forms by using Web infrastructure and a standard XML framework.


According to the company, the software will initially be used for internal administration forms, such as personnel-related actions to administrative budget processes. The company estimates the software will be used by 3,500 workers scattered throughout 43 different city departments.
