ACS wins Air Force IT services contract

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a one-year, $12.1 million contract with the Air Force Electronic Systems Center for information technology services.

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a one-year, $12.1 million contract with the Air Force Electronic Systems Center for information technology services, the company announced May 29.


The contract contains four one-year options worth $41.1 million, the company said.


ACS of Dallas will provide the services to the Global Air Traffic Operations Mobility Command and Control Program Office at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass.


Under the contract, ACS will provide technical specialists in navigation, communications, surveillance and air traffic management and control systems necessary to help the program office in meeting its objectives.


ACS will support the program office with system acquisition and development, logistics, training, contracting and administrative services necessary for the continuing development and enhancement of the national airspace system.


The national airspace system comprises the air traffic control and landing system, air traffic management, cockpit avionics precision approach and landing systems and the national airspace system.


This is the second major award from the Electronic Systems Center that ACS has won since April. The first award was a $50.8 million contract with Electronic System Center's Command and Control Enterprise Integration Office.
