Four score defense accounting contract

Four companies have won blanket purchase agreements worth a total $475 million from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service for technical support at the organization's U.S. centers.

Computer Sciences Corp. of El Segundo, Calif., Electronic Data Systems Corp. of Plano, Texas, Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego, and Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md., each received a BPA for one year with four one-year options.

The companies will compete to support more than 200 automated information systems in finance, accounting, payroll, transportation, logistics, personnel and management.

According to Marco de Vito, vice president of CSC's joint defense integrated services business unit, the tasks will include: project management, software development and maintenance, economic analysis and improved business processes, risk management, systems requirements definition, hardware and software installation and implementation, software process improvement, system documentation, technical training and technology infusion.
