Sytex buys Defense contractor

The Sytex Group Inc., Doylestown, Pa., acquired MacAulay-Brown Inc., a Dayton, Ohio, defense contractor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Sytex Group Inc., Doylestown, Pa., acquired MacAulay-Brown Inc., a Dayton, Ohio, defense contractor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MacAulay-Brown, which is commonly called MacB, employs 350 people and has more than $35 million in annual revenue. The company works in areas such as electronic warfare, reconnaissance and intelligence systems, modeling and simulation and information warfare.

MacB will continue to operate as a component company within Sytex under its existing management team. The acquisition will push Sytex's annual revenue above $135 million.

Sytex's major customers are the Army and Navy. The company supports information technology, telecommunications, information operations, security, medical support systems, weapons and logistics operations.
