Signal nets $25 million Army order

Signal Corp. won a task order to provide knowledge management and technical support to the Army's Office of the Director of Information Systems for Command, Control, Communications and Computers.

Signal Corp. won a task order worth $25 million to provide knowledge management and technical support to the Department of the Army's Office of the Director of Information Systems for Command, Control, Communications and Computers, the company announced Jan. 28.

The seven-year task order was awarded through the General Services Administration's Millennia Lite.

Under this task order, Signal of Fairfax, Va., will implement systems to enable the Army to meet goals set forth by the its Knowledge Management strategic plan. The plan is part of a larger initiative to transform itself into a network-centric, knowledge-based force.

This is the third task order Signal has received through Millennia Lite, and adds to the company's growing work with the Army on a variety of IT contracts.

Signal also is in charge of enhancing and maintaining the Information Technology Systems Registration Initiative for the service. The company also will design, implement and maintain numerous applications including the Web site for the Office of the Director of Information Systems for Command, Control, Communications and Computers, people management activities, document and work-flow management and public key infrastructure technology.
