Anteon wins $16.8 million defense IT contract

Anteon Corp., a Fairfax, Va., information technology and engineering solutions company, won a contract to support the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia's Tricare Regional Standardization Program, the company announced Jan. 10.


The one-year contract has four option years. If all options are exercised, the contract is worth up to $16.8 million.


A key focus of the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia Directorate of Medical Materiel is to re-engineer its business practices, adapting commercial models to bring world-class medical logistics support to meet the demands of the U.S. military during peacetime operations, humanitarian relief or peacekeeping efforts, lesser contingencies and major theater wars.


Under the contract, Anteon's Information Systems Group will work to drive down the cost of medical surgical supplies and services, and to promote the availability of high-quality products in support of best business and clinical practices. It is a new kind of work for Anteon, said Joseph Kampf, president and chief executive officer.


Choctaw Management Services Enterprise of Durant, Okla., is a subcontractor on the job.
