AMS expands govt. agreement with WebMethods

American Management Systems Inc. has become a government supplier for middleware provider WebMethods Inc.

American Management Systems Inc., Fairfax, Va., has become a government supplier for middleware provider WebMethods Inc., also of Fairfax, WebMethods announced Jan. 28.

The agreement will allow AMS to incorporate WebMethods' integration software into a number of its government-related financial management application suites. The software will allow AMS' packages to interact more closely with legacy systems, making for better tracking of the acquisition processes and closer tiers with financial management, logistics, transportation and resource management.

The agreement also builds on a previous relationship between the companies, in which AMS used WebMethods' products for government solutions as well for customers in the markets for energy, telecommunications and financial services, said WebMethods public relations manager Ivy Eckerman.

"We are pleased to be renewing and elevating our successful relationship with WebMethods. Its integration platform has played an important role in assisting AMS in providing clients with a quick, comprehensive and financially compelling solution for their complex integration issues," said Paul Turner, AMS' chief technology officer.

As part of the agreement, WebMethods will train AMS integration consultants on how to use the software, and the two companies will do some joint sales, marketing and technical development efforts.
