Lockheed Martin Scores $45 Million FDIC Deal
Lockheed Martin Corp. won the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s client information technology support services contract.
Lockheed Martin Corp. has been awarded the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s $45 million client information technology support services contract, the company announced Nov. 30.
Under the terms of the five-year contract, Lockheed Martin of Bethesda, Md., will support the FDIC's IT infrastructure, from network performance management to desktops and peripherals.
The company will establish a consolidated customer support center that will serve as a centralized help desk and network operations center, providing proactive server, network device, desktop and remote access service delivery for the FDIC's 6,500 users across the United States.
The contract is for three years with two one-year options, and was awarded to Lockheed Martin's Information Support Services division.
To support the contract, Lockheed Martin is basing people at FDIC's six headquarters locations in the Washington area, and at one of eight regional offices in the Dallas area. The staffs will assist users at the remaining regional offices and the FDIC's 94 field offices around the country.
Congress established the FDIC in 1933 to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system. The FDIC insures deposits at about 9,700 banks and savings associations. It promotes the safety and soundness of these institutions by identifying, monitoring and addressing the risks to which they are exposed.
"We are very proud that the FDIC, whose data streams are critical to its vital national mission, has selected Lockheed Martin to provide the managed IT services that support these requirements," said Linda Good, president of Lockheed Martin ISS.
