The Air Force Air Mobility Command has selected Cardiff Software Inc., San Diego, to provide automated paper and electronic form solutions to process evaluation surveys at 12 family support centers in North America. Paper forms will be scanned into the Cardiff TELEform system, where they will be converted into XML data using advanced optical and intelligent character recognition engines.
The city of Chicago has chosen iManage WorkSite application suite from iManage Inc., San Mateo, Calif., to manage the Chicago Policemen's Pension Fund, allowing pension holders and account managers to check information through a Web portal.
FreeBalance Inc., Ottawa, has released its eGrants 2.0 software, which streamlines the online grants management life cycle. FreeBalance was recently awarded a General Services Administration schedule contract for eGrants. Silicon Graphics Inc., Mountain View, Calif., has signed a cooperative research and development agreement with the Air Force's Space Warfare Center to research and design a system that can capture, integrate and format visual data from satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles and other sources to aid in command decision making.
The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare has purchased five-year licenses for data cleansing, data linking, geocoding software and associated services from Innovative Systems Inc., Pittsburgh. Innovative's geocoding software will assign latitudinal and longitudinal information to the department's internal facility records, allowing its Web site to provide clients with driving directions to facility locations. The data cleansing tool corrects flawed data in the facility records before they are processed through the geocoding software.
Erdas Inc., Atlanta, has released a new version of its geographic image processing system, IMAGINE NITF 2.1, which allows users to virtually monitor areas of interest in two or three dimensions on personal computers. This new product is created in compliance with the National Imagery and Mapping Agency's National Imagery Transmission Format Standard (NITFS) MIL-STD-2500B. Erdas has also released an add-on module, OrthoBASE Pro, that automatically extracts digital terrain models from existing three-dimensional imagery.
Integral Systems Inc., Lanham, Md., has introduced its Skylight product line for acquisition, processing and distribution of satellite imagery. The end-to-end Skylight system includes an antenna, data capture hardware and software, data processing to create and analyze calibrated Earth images, archive and distribution tools.Identix Inc., Los Gatos, Calif., was awarded contracts by the German office of the Army Community and Family Support Center and the California Department of Justice, collectively valued at $500,000. Identix's TouchPrint 2000 fingerprint systems will process applicant background checks against the FBI criminal history database.
The Anaheim, Calif.,-based Printrak, a part of Motorola Inc., was named by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a certified vendor for Canadian criminal and applicant fingerprint submission systems. The company will offer its Digital Justice Solution line, which captures, tracks and shares crime-related information.
The Atlantic division of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command will use biometrics signature software from Communication Intelligence Corp., Redwood Shores, Calif., to implement its paperless acquisition process.
