Northrop Grumman, ITEL Share $2.8B Award

The Army announced Oct. 26 that Northrop Grumman Corp. and ITEL Solutions each have won contracts for software and systems engineering support.
The information technology division of Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles, received a five-year contract worth more than $702.6 million. With options the contract could be worth $1.45 billion over 10 years.
ITEL Solutions, an ILEX Telos joint venture based in Shrewsbury, N.J., was awarded a five-year contract worth $627 million. Options could push the value to $1.38 billion over 10 years.
The contract was awarded by the Communications-Electronics Command Software Engineering Center in Fort Monmouth, N.J. CECOM provides software and systems engineering support for mission-critical defense systems and associated systems and programs throughout their life cycles.
The two companies will support the center in developing and maintaining communications, command and control, intelligence, electronic warfare, sensors, avionics systems and other organizational IT systems and associated support requirements.
The work will be split between Fort Monmouth and Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
