General Dynamics Corp. closed its $825 million cash deal to acquire Motorola's Integrated Information Systems Group.

General Dynamics Corp. closed its $825 million cash deal to acquire Motorola's Integrated Information Systems Group Sept. 28.

The group, which will be known as General Dynamics Decision Systems, has capabilities in command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems. Mark Fried will be president of the business. He comes to Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics from Motorola.

The new unit will become part of General Dynamics Information Systems and Technology business group and is the fifth business unit in the IT and communications group.
