General Dynamics Wins Army Telecom Contract

General Dynamics Corp., Falls Church, Va., has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract worth up to $98 million to supply local telephone service for the Army.

The long-term life-cycle support contract has a base year total of $18 million with a cumulative total of $98 million if the four option years are exercised.

It supports the total telephone switch system, including depot level support, short-term and long-term field service support, remote diagnostics, emergency technical assistance, software and equipment upgrades and expansions, parts and material, training, technical data and extended service plan.

Work will be performed at various Department of Defense installations worldwide. Completion is expected by Aug. 20, 2006.

Work will be overseen by the Army Communications-Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J. This command is responsible for integrated commodity management and research and development of communications equipment.
