Raytheon, EG&G Team Win Air Force's $1.7B Award

The Air Force selected JT3 LLC, a joint venture equally owned by EG&G Technical Services and Raytheon Technical Services Co., for the Joint Range Technical Services contract.

The Air Force selected JT3 LLC, a joint venture equally owned by EG&G Technical Services and Raytheon Technical Services Co., for the Joint Range Technical Services contract, potentially worth $1.7 billion over 15 years.


JT3 of Henderson, Nev., will provide operations and maintenance, engineering and technical services for threats, instrumentation, communications and data systems. The company also will provide hardware and software support, modeling, simulation and training, equipment modifications, information technology, test planning, scheduling and execution and data collection, reduction and analysis.


The work sites will include the Nevada Test and Training Range, the Utah Test and Training Range, the Air Force Flight Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base, and the Navy's Electronic Combat Range at China Lake, Calif.


The contract includes a three-month phase-in period, a one-year base period, four one-year options and the possibility of 10 one-year extensions.


EG&G of Gaithersburg, Md., and Raytheon Technical Services, a subsidiary of Lexington, Mass.-based Raytheon Co., established JT3 to meet this program's requirements and to support Air Force goals associated with the consolidation of range facilities.
