Ingram Micro Inc. of Santa Ana, Calif., will provide product procurement and logistics services to Nacscorp, a subsidiary of the National Association of College Stores. Nacscorp sells products, including technology products, to more than 3,500 university bookstores.

Ingram Micro will provide services including inventory purchasing, warehouse logistics management and product returns processing. Nacscorp will manage customer relationships with college stores, continuing to support customers with sales, marketing and customer care services, as well as invoicing.

"In the past, Ingram Micro and Nacscorp were competitors," said Kevin Murai, president, Ingram Micro U.S. "Today, we see the value of joining forces to leverage the core competencies of Ingram Micro and Nacscorp to meet the needs of the customer and create a superior business model for both organizations."Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa., and Dell Computer Corp. of Round Rock, Texas, expanded their services agreement to include the sale of servers, desktop and notebook computers and new services. The agreement is worth $1 billion over the next three years.

The two companies will rebrand and sell specific Intel-based servers manufactured by the other company. Dell will acquire and sell 16- and 32-processor servers based on Unisys CMP architecture under the Dell brand name. Unisys will acquire and sell two-, four- and eight-processors from Dell PowerEdge servers that will be sold under the Unisys name.

Unisys also will be the preferred service producer for installation, warranty and support services, network services and systems integration services for select Dell products. The two companies also are exploring opportunities to expand the agreement into consulting services.Alcatel of Paris has signed an agreement for Fuentez Systems Concepts Inc. of Charleston, S.C., to sell, install and service Alcatel OmniPCX 4400 and Omni family of data products to federal, state and local governments.

Alcatel develops voice and data products. Fuentez is an IT and engineering services company that specializes in hardening commercial technology products for use in environments that are hard on computer equipment, such as Navy ships.Litton PRC Inc. of McLean, Va., has tapped Evolve Software Inc. of Emeryville, Calif., to supply software that will help the company improve resource management.

PRC, which along with its parent Litton Industries Inc. of Woodland Hills, Calif., is being sold to Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles. The company is conducting a pilot implementation of Evolve's software.

The software is used to improve professional resource management and streamline operations.

"As a large professional services organization serving the public sector, we strive to continually update the processes and tools we use to manage our projects effectively and strategically," said Jeffrey Zack, vice president and general manager of Litton PRC's enterprise solutions practice, which is conducting the pilot.
