NOV. 15 ? Litton-PRC Inc. of McLean, Va., formed an alliance with Tacit Knowledge Systems Inc. of Palo Alto, Calif., to incorporate Tacit's knowledge discovery and exchange software with PRC's solutions.
Tacit's KnowledgeMail software will be integrated into PRC's KnowledgeNext solution, giving clients automatic access to their corporate knowledge, including the know-how and experience people accumulate in their daily activities.
The integrated solution:
* Discovers expertise, knowledge, interests and work focus of people;
* Connects people based on business needs in real-time;
* Combines data and people to solve problems in context.
KnowledgeNext is a suite of integrated knowledge management technologies, tools, and techniques. Litton PRC is currently implementing KnowledgeNext solutions for senior NASA scientists to capture their expertise in the design, development and launch of sounding rockets.
Tacit helps solve business problems by brokering connections between people. Using e-mail, KnowledgeMail automates the discovery, exchange and analysis of knowledge by accessing an organization's large volume of unpublished information, identifying the people that transform it into knowledge and making them immediately available to others.
"The combination of Litton-PRC's ability to train, plan, design, integrate and implement enhanced knowledge management solutions, and Tacit's robust KnowledgeMail software positions clients to more effectively and efficiently identify and leverage expert knowledge within their ranks," said Barry Rhine, president of Litton-PRC. "Clients can easily search and sweep an organization's e-mail to broker connections between people."
