SAS Launches E-Government Program

AUG. 21 ? SAS Institute Inc., a software company providing data warehousing services, launched an e-government solutions program for federal, state and local government customers Aug. 18 to help governments improve information and service delivery, Web site performance and optimization, security and work flow process management.


"One of our main goals in offering these e-government solutions is to give our government customers a way to electronically disseminate information and services to the public in a timely, more efficient manner," said Jeff Babcock, vice president of SAS Institute's Public Sector Sales, Cary, N.C.


The E-Government Program offers four complementary solutions. E-Delivery will help with automated information sharing and offers customized delivery channels. E-Optimization capitalizes on streamlining Web delivery. E-Security will help government customers identify misuse and abuse of services and IT resources, as well as offer ways to provide a secure Web environment. And e-Work flow will automate the business process of information delivery.


The SAS Institute provides integrated enterprise information-delivery and e-business solutions. SAS software and services are used at more than 33,000 business, government and university sites in 110 countries. SAS' 1999 revenue totaled $1.02 billion.
