OAO Corp. of Greenbelt, Md., and Signal Corp. of Fairfax, Va., have each won contracts potentially worth $300 million with the Army Communications-Electronics Command, the Information Systems Engineering Command and the Signal Command. The two companies will continue to compete against each other for task orders.

Services under the deal, called the Total Engineering and Integration Services contract, include information systems engineering and integration, operations and maintenance, information technology support and program management.

OAO's team includes Arctic Slope Regional Corporation Communications Ltd. of Anchorage, Alaska; BAE Systems Inc. of Rockville, Md.; Electronic Data Systems Corp. of Plano, Texas; Integrated Information Technology Corp. of Greenwood Village, Colo.; L3 Communications Inc. of New York; NCI Information System Inc. of McLean, Va.; and SM&A Corp. of Newport Beach, Calif.

Signal's team includes Advanced Management Technology Inc. of Arlington, Va.; Egan McAllister Associates Inc. of Lexington Park, Md.; Information Systems Support Inc. of Bethesda, Md.; Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles; Sparta Inc. of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and Unisys Corp. of Blue Bell, Pa.The Defense Intelligence Agency plans to release a request for proposals May 3 for analytical system services. Responses are due June 6.

The winning contractor will provide computer systems support, analytical tool development, database support and other services. The contractor also will provide the Missile and Space Intelligence Center with analytical tools.

Maximus Acquires Smart-Card Integrator: Maximus Corp. of McLean, Va., has acquired the government services division of 3G International Inc., a Springfield, Va., integrator of smart-card systems.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Maximus is picking up an additional $10 million in revenue and 90 new employees. Maximus had about $244 million in 1999 revenue, mostly from providing services to state and local governments.
