Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego has won a $271 million contract from the Army Personnel Command to provide a variety of services to the Army's Community Automation Services Program.

SAIC will provide support to 450 Army personnel systems, including hardware and software upgrades and enhancements, as well as develop strategic plans for the personnel command.

The 10-year contract was awarded under the General Services Administration's Millennia vehicle, a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract designed for large systems integration projects.
The Maritime Administration wants to procure a broad range of services for its Ready Reserve Force program, which provides sealift support for the rapid deployment of military forces.

The Maritime Administration, which is under the Transportation Department, wants an 8(a) contractor that can provide procurement support and define system requirements as well as develop specifications and provide other information technology services.

Ernst & Young LLP and CrossBorder Solutions, both of New York, have formed an alliance to promote CrossBorder's tax solutions. CrossBorder makes tax compliance software.

Under the alliance, the two companies jointly will develop advanced tax software solutions.

As part of the agreement, James Tobin, director of Ernst & Young's International Tax Services, will become a director on the CrossBorder board. "We are delighted to add CrossBorder Solutions to our growing list of e-commerce alliances," Tobin said.
