SRA International Inc. of Fairfax, Va., has begun an electronic commerce initiative to pull together its capabilities in that area. Heading the effort is 20-year company veteran Barry Landew, who has become SRA's chief e-commerce officer.

"E-solutions will be the lifeblood of any thriving information technology company in the years ahead," said Landew. The systems integrator, with revenue of $292 million a year, will be leveraging its experience in text and data mining, e-mail management and information assurance.
OAO Corp., a Greenbelt, Md., systems integrator, and JetForm Corp. of Ottawa will join to integrate OAO's electronic data interchange (EDI) technology with JetForm's electronic commerce technology. JetForm develops work flow and electronic commerce products.The goal is to make EDI systems be interoperable with systems using extensible markup language.
NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., is planning to combine two contracts into a single, $25-million-a-year deal called the Systems Analysis and Mission Support contract. It either will be a small business set-aside contract, or the prime contractor will need mostly small business subcontractors. The two contracts to be combined are the Systems Analysis and Engineering Research Support and the Aerospace Research and Technology Services contracts.

Intellisource Boosts Help-Desk Capabilities: Intellisource Group Inc., a $101 million a year systems integrator in Vienna, Va., consolidated its help-desk services in Cleveland for its NASA customers. Intellisource holds the desktop outsourcing task orders for NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland and Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. The company manages 14,000 seats or desktop computers under the Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA contract. Company officials said the consolidation allows Intellisource to increase the services it offers and pursue new outsourcing opportunities.
